Pray for BetterPears

Greetings in the Lord,

I am writing to you because I am calling in the “Big Gun(ē)” to assist with the growth and development of BetterPears. Over the last two years I have engineered the online offerings and in-person fellowship of BetterPears to the best of my abilities given the resources and circumstances available to an intentionally bootstrapped, start-up enterprise. For all the laudation that liberal arts education receives rightfully or wrongfully so, each spring, graduates commence upon a world that is openly hostile to the great conversation in which they have only begun to offer salvos. What place do we have in the world for young adults and even their elders to develop the hard-fought leisure of Newman, Lewis, and Pieper? BetterPears exists to offer such old students but young souls the natural sweetness and succor of an intellectual and spiritual fruit that we ourselves did not plant but nonetheless was planted in our soul and desired.

BetterPears, now, with all its moving parts holds the skeletal structure necessary to grow organically as cor ad cor loquitur. What is needed, however, is flesh to cover the form of BetterPears. For this reason, I am inviting the Queen of Heaven, who is something of a specialist on this matter of corporate incarnation and advocacy, to oversee the continued grown and vigor of this grand enterprise. I am glad for the assistance and already breathe with renewed consolation. I invite you to join me in welcoming her to this new era in the story of BetterPears through the opportunity outlined below.

“Memorare” is the Latin imperative of the deponent verb “memoror” meaning “remember” and the beginning of a traditional prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary seeking her intercession within the heavenly court. The Memorare is a prayer that makes present the truth that this life is not the end of our being and reminds all, Mary included—though one doubts if she ever truly forgets—, that the life to come is one of ever-increasing agency.

In addition to financial support through BetterPears Leaves, we are seeking spiritual support in aid of our mission to offer better Fruit for the Human Soul. BetterPears will distribute prayer cards like those attached to this message at our in-person fellowships and through our other direct mailings to supporters. Please join us on this journey of hope. Please download the Memorare Card and put the printed card on your nightstand or in your wallet and fill the margins of your day with intercessory prayer for the work of BetterPears and whatever else you need to turn over to your mother in heaven. To better grasp the reach of her advocacy and unite those desirous of the promise that BetterPears offers, prayer intercessors are asked to track and report their prayers using the QR Code on the back of the card or through the links on this page. Our goal is to have 250,000 prayers offered by the BetterPears cultural empire by the end of 2024 and the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God.
