**********

The BetterPears Podcast is offered free through the wonder of the internet but made possible through the continued contributions of our listener audience. Our crowdfunding program BetterPears Leaves. is simple and some might say elegant in design. For your monthly contribution of $15 or more to BetterPears, receive a thank you Goldback in the mail. To celebrate our first Lord of the Rings Participatory Reading Fellowships starting this summer in Oklahoma City, every qualifying monthly contribution to BetterPears Leaves from June 2025 until September 2025 will earn an entry to win a hobbit-size replica Sting, the sword wielded by Bilbo, Frodo, and Samwise Gamgee in a pinch. Official Rules are forthcoming on the BetterPears website. Winners must have a postal address in the contiguous 48 United States. Please visit BetterPears.com/Leaves for more information and to contribute.

BetterPears Leaves is like a Patreon but with fractional, physical gold instead of BTS and blooper reels. If you have been listening to The BetterPears Podcast or The Confederal Reserve for some time and recognize that the ideas shared stand out from other offerings of the internet, are worth sharing, and are worthy of your support, this community driven contribution program is for you.
If you are an adult in the Oklahoma City area, consider attending one of our participatory reading fellowships. Currently we are reading the plays of William Shakespeare and The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien. Information and registration is linked at BetterPears.com.

Thank you for your continued patronage of attention, prayers, and federal reserve notes.

The BetterPears Memorare prayer campaign continues. Pledge and report your offered prayers for the success of BetterPears at BetterPears.com/Memorare..

Aurum Aures (Season 3, Episode 8)

Season 3, Episode 8: Aurum Aures

This episode responds to the doleful dollar previously considered with an exploration of gold, its elemental permanence, and a particular relationship it holds with our ears. As with our previous explorations, this is certainly another episode that Big Lexi, the lexicography cartel does not want you to hear nor enjoy.

If you do enjoy this production, I also ask that you like the episode, subscribe to the podcast if you have not already, and leave us a message in the comments. Your likes, subscriptions, and comments truly help us reach a wider audience. To receive the transcript of each episode and be the first to learn of BetterPears announcements, please sign-up to our newsletter at the bottom of the page at BetterPears.com. To view all the podcast episodes arranged by season, episode number, and topic, head over to BetterPears.com/Schedule. Each episode on the list is hyperlinked to assist you with sharing a particular insight with friends and family.

On the topic of patronage, last month BetterPears announced a prayer campaign seeking the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Head on over to BetterPears.com/Memorare to support the labor and fruit of BetterPears and grow closer to your mother in heaven.

Finally, The BetterPears Podcast is offered free through the wonder of the internet but made possible through the continued contributions of our listener audience. This year, we announced our new crowdfunding program, BetterPears Leaves. The program is simple and some might say elegant in design. Contribute $12 or more each month to BetterPears and receive a thank you Goldback in the mail. It is like a Patreon but with fractional, physical gold instead of BTS and blooper reels. If you have been listening to The BetterPears Podcast or The Confederal Reserve for some time and recognize that the ideas shared stand out from other offering of the internet, are worth sharing, and are worthy of your support, this community driven contribution program is for you. As an additional thank you to our contributors, each month from July to December 2024, one lucky supporter will receive a free BetterPears mug of his or her choice from the BetterPears Market in addition to the monthly Goldback. Thank you for your continued patronage of attention and federal reserve notes. And now, on with the episode.

Dollar Dole Δοῦλος (Season 3, Episode 7)

Season 3, Episode 7: Dollar Dole Δοῦλος

This episode considers the dollar and its effect upon us as a debt instrument. There is something fundamentally flawed with our financial system which has led to economic booms and busts of intensifying magnitude over the last 50 years. While this podcast will not address the technical aspects of why this has been the case, many other insightful thinkers have. Links to their work is included in the description and at the bottom of the post. Our purpose at present is to consider the distinction between money and currency and the effect of debased money or inflationary currency on the common good and how such a financial system resists the cultivation of genuine virtue. As with our previous explorations, this is certainly another episode that Big Lexi, the lexicography cartel does not want you to hear nor enjoy.
